Orthognathic surgery involves surgical realignment of jaws into a functionally and cosmetically more suitable position. It also involves orthodontics( straightening of teeth) along with it.

Yes. Usually admission i one day prior to surgery and four to five days post surgery.
Yes. It is a common maxillofacial major surgery, thus patients do have substantial swelling for a week and pain is under control with medications. With the use of advanced technologies the swelling can be reduced drastically.
Patients will be able to resume work in 7-10 days.
Surgery is usally performed in one day (3-4 hrs) but the orthodontic treatment part may last 1 year before surgery and 3-6 months after surgery.
